Local Cabinet Makers
We Are Lancaster County

Our shop is in Honey Brook, a small community on Route 322 between Lancaster and Chester County. We are not a national chain with a showroom here. We are a Lancaster County company that has been building custom Amish cabinetry in this region since 1979.

Levi Stoltzfus founded Choice Custom Cabinetry and Design here, in the heart of Pennsylvania Amish country. His sons Steve and Leo run it today. The craftsmen who build every cabinet in our 20,000 square foot Honey Brook facility are part of the same community. When you work with us, you are working with the people who built your neighbors’ kitchens, sometimes decades ago, and sometimes last month.

The difference that matters: We are the manufacturer. No dealer markup, no middleman between you and the people who build your cabinets. That is why our price for fully custom solid hardwood cabinets is often comparable to what showrooms charge for semi-custom lines.

What We Build
Custom Cabinetry for Every Room in Lancaster County Homes

We build cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, home offices, mudrooms, pantries, and wine rooms. Every project starts with a blank page and a conversation about what you want, not a catalog of options to choose from.

Kitchen Cabinets
Full custom kitchen cabinetry built to your room’s exact dimensions. Shaker, inset, raised panel, or slab door styles. Any Sherwin-Williams color or natural wood finish. Island design, pantry columns, integrated appliance panels.
Bathroom Vanities
Custom vanities in any size, any finish, any door style. Single and double vanities, linen towers, medicine cabinet surrounds. Moisture-resistant solid wood construction that outlasts MDF alternatives.
Built-In Bookcases and Office Walls
Floor-to-ceiling library walls, home office built-ins, entertainment centers. Custom dimensions fit the wall exactly with no filler strips or awkward gaps. Rolling ladder systems available for ceiling heights over 9 feet.
Mudrooms and Pantries
Custom mudroom cabinetry with benches, cubbies, upper cabinets, and hooks built to fit your entry space. Walk-in and butler’s pantries with adjustable shelving, vertical dividers, and pull-out storage.

Lancaster County Homes
Built for the Architecture of This Region

Lancaster County has an unusually diverse housing stock. You have 18th and 19th century colonial and farmhouse construction, Victorian-era homes in borough centers, mid-century ranches and split-levels in the suburban townships, and newer construction in developments throughout the county. Each type presents different cabinet challenges.

Older Lancaster County homes

Stone farmhouses, bank barns converted to living space, and colonial-era homes often have ceiling heights that are not standard, walls that are not plumb after 200 years of settling, and floor levels that vary by an inch across a single room. Standard-sized cabinets from a showroom require filler strips and compromise the finish. Custom cabinets built to the actual measurements of the room fit correctly and look like they belong there.

Lancaster borough and surrounding towns

The Victorian and early 20th-century rowhouses and detached homes in Lancaster City, Lititz, Ephrata, and Manheim often have kitchens that were added or renovated at various points and have unusual proportions. These rooms benefit most from custom work because the dimensions simply do not follow any standard module.

Newer construction throughout the county

The developments in Mount Joy, Elizabethtown, Strasburg, Quarryville, and New Holland tend to have standard dimensions and are often well-suited to our semi-custom line: the same solid hardwood construction and dovetail drawers as full custom, in standard sizing increments that fit these kitchens at a lower price point. See our semi-custom cabinet shop for options and lead times.

Our Process
From First Conversation to Installed Cabinets

Working with a local cabinet maker is simpler than most people expect. Here is how a project moves from first contact to finished installation.

1
Consultation
We meet at our 6,000 square foot showroom in Honey Brook or visit your home in Lancaster County for larger projects. We take measurements, talk through your design direction, and look at wood species and finish samples together. No charge, no obligation to proceed.
2
Design and approval
Our team produces detailed drawings and a 3D rendering showing every cabinet in your kitchen or room. You see exactly what you are getting and approve it before production starts. Changes at the drawing stage cost nothing.
3
Production in Honey Brook
Your cabinets are built by our craftsmen in our facility, five miles from the Lancaster County line. Face frames are hand-fitted. Drawer boxes are built with dovetail joinery. Every cabinet is checked before it leaves the shop. Full custom takes 8 to 12 weeks. Semi-custom takes 3 to 5 weeks.
4
Installation
Our own installation crew delivers and installs. We handle scribing to imperfect Lancaster County walls and ceilings, leveling, crown molding, and all finish touches. The project is finished when you are satisfied. See our how we work page for the full process.

Pricing
What Custom Cabinets Cost in Lancaster County

We will give you real numbers. Full custom Amish kitchen cabinets from our shop run $15,000 to $45,000 installed for most Lancaster County kitchens, depending on size, wood species, door style, and layout complexity. Larger kitchens with premium materials go above that.

These are complete installed prices including design, materials, production, finishing, delivery, and installation. Countertops, appliances, plumbing, and electrical are separate.

Our semi-custom line starts considerably lower for standard-dimension kitchens and produces the same solid hardwood quality in less time. For a full breakdown of what drives cost up or down and what each price level actually delivers, see our Pennsylvania cabinet pricing guide. The most accurate number for your specific project comes from a consultation with your room measured.

No dealer markup: Because we manufacture our own cabinets, we do not mark up a wholesale product. That is why Lancaster County homeowners consistently find our pricing competitive with showroom semi-custom lines, even though our product is fully custom and solid hardwood throughout.

Common Questions
Lancaster County Cabinet FAQ
Our shop and showroom are at 3400 Horseshoe Pike in Honey Brook, which is approximately 20 to 25 minutes from Lancaster City depending on traffic. From Lititz or Ephrata we are about the same distance. From the eastern end of Lancaster County near Strasburg or Quarryville, the drive is 30 to 40 minutes. We are open Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. We recommend calling ahead at (610) 273-2907 so a designer can be available when you arrive.
Yes, and we do it regularly. Older homes in Lancaster County, particularly the stone farmhouses and colonial-era construction common throughout the county, rarely have plumb walls, level floors, or consistent ceiling heights. Our full custom line is built to the actual measurements of your specific room, and our installation crew handles scribing and fitting on site. This is one of the main reasons custom cabinets make more sense than showroom semi-custom for older Lancaster homes.
Yes. We install throughout Lancaster County including the city, all the surrounding townships and boroughs, and into the more rural southern and western parts of the county. Distance within Lancaster County does not affect the installation price or timeline.
Full custom cabinets are built to any dimension you specify, in any wood species, with any door profile. No standard sizes, no compromises on dimensions. Semi-custom cabinets use standard width increments (available in 2-inch steps) with a wide range of finish and door options. Both use solid hardwood construction and dovetail drawer boxes. Full custom takes 8 to 12 weeks and costs more. Semi-custom takes 3 to 5 weeks and costs less. For older Lancaster County homes with non-standard dimensions, full custom is almost always the better choice. For newer construction with standard dimensions, semi-custom often produces excellent results at a lower price.
Yes. We work regularly with general contractors, builders, and interior designers throughout Lancaster County and the surrounding region. We produce detailed shop drawings and 3D renderings, can work from architectural plans, and coordinate our production and delivery schedule with the project timeline. Our designer and builder page has more information on how we work with the trade.
White oak is the most requested species in our shop right now, particularly rift-cut white oak with a natural or lightly stained finish. It works well in both the historic farmhouse renovations common in rural Lancaster County and the contemporary new builds in the townships. Hard maple is the most practical choice for painted kitchens. Cherry has a long tradition in Lancaster County and remains popular for more traditional styles. Walnut is our most dramatic option for clients who want a rich, dark natural wood kitchen. Our white oak kitchen guide covers the most popular choice in more detail.
